Bibikhanum
Hotel overlooking the dome of Bibi-Khanym Mosque
An 18-room hotel next to Bibi-Khanym Mosque and Siyob Bazaar, with interiors in traditional carving and painting, a leafy courtyard and a terrace facing the mosque's dome.
Hotel Bibikhanum stands in the very heart of the old town, right beside Bibi-Khanym Mosque: the mosque is about 75 m away, Siyob Bazaar 300 m, and both the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis and Registan Square roughly 700 m. By the hotel's own reckoning, Shah-i-Zinda is a five-minute walk and the Registan ten.
The decoration draws on traditional Uzbek crafts — carving, ganch plasterwork, woodwork and painting. A terrace above the restaurant looks across the old-town rooftops to the mosque's colossal dome, and inside there is a leafy courtyard.
There are 18 rooms: six twins, eight doubles and four triples, all with air conditioning, private bathroom, satellite TV and a mini-fridge. Wi-Fi, laundry and a safe at reception are available, and reception even sells stamps and postcards. The hotel website, in Russian, English, French and German, has a direct booking form.
