Bellis, on Uzbekistan Street southwest of the centre, is about as close as Samarkand gets to a nightlife restaurant. Live music often plays in the evenings, hookah is on offer and the room fills up fast.
The menu is international: sushi and rolls, oysters and other seafood, Italian dishes, Russian shchi and steaks, plus vegetarian options and wine. It is a favourite with Samarkand's well-heeled crowd, and prices are well above the city average. Doors open at 11am and stay open until 2am.
