A tribute to a collector
Savitsky Plaza is a 175-room four-star hotel in the Silk Road Samarkand complex. It takes its name from Igor Savitsky, an Honoured Art Worker of the Uzbek SSR and a collector of avant-garde art who also studied the history of the Karakalpaks; his collection became the core of the art museum he founded in Nukus. Contemporary artworks and nods to his legacy run through the interiors.
Rooms and restaurant
Some standard rooms come with a balcony or terrace overlooking the rowing canal, and there are junior suites and suites as well. The 300 m² Italian restaurant on the ground floor serves a breakfast buffet in the morning and pasta, pizza and Italian desserts in the evening; its 140 m² terrace suits family dinners and banquets. There is also a café with a long list of desserts, two bars, a conference room and a gym.
The hotel is just 150 m from the centre of the complex, about 700 m from the musical fountain on the canal and 850 m from the Eternal City.
