Sogdiana

A large café 180 m from University Boulevard with a leafy fountain terrace, live music in the evenings, breakfasts, European and Georgian dishes, desserts and ice cream.

Sogdiana is on Alisher Navoi Street, about 180 m from University Boulevard and 220 m from St Alexius Cathedral. It has a main hall, a small side room and a large covered terrace full of greenery, with a little fountain between the tables and a big screen playing nature films. A large banana tree grows in the middle of the main hall, and there is live music in the evenings.

European cooking dominates the menu: plenty of breakfasts (syrniki with mango, for one), pasta, salads, Georgian khinkali and Adjarian khachapuri, plus manti. Desserts run to tiramisu and cakes, there is ice cream, a long list of coffees and teas, and a wine list.

Open from 7:30 to 23:30, it works as well for breakfast as for dinner. The Registon Sogdiana coffee and ice-cream spot by Registan Square is a branch of the same café.
