A plov centre on Navoi Avenue in the west of the city, serving Samarkand plov at lunchtime and — unusually — in the evening as well.

Mahallaosh is in the western part of Samarkand, about 1.6 km east of the State Museum of the History of Culture of Uzbekistan. It is a plain, canteen-style place where mostly locals eat. The draw is Samarkand plov, ordered with salads, ayran, tea and bread.

Portions are large: 2026 reviews put a portion at around 90,000 som and say that one, or even half, is enough for two. Unlike many plov centres, it serves an evening plov once the break ends at 17:00; on Sundays it closes at 15:00.

Good to know

  • Evening plov is served after 17:00 (except Sundays).

Details checked in October 2026. Details may change — please check before you visit. Something wrong? Let us know
