ReportA youth hub on the grounds of a former military hospital
A 5.4-hectare public park and youth centre opened in 2026, with a library, IT and robotics labs in historic buildings, sports courts, shaded aivans and cafés.
The Youth Creative Town and public park occupy the grounds of a former military hospital on O'zbekiston Street. The 5.4-hectare complex was built with more than 70 billion som of sponsorship money and opened in March 2026; President Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured it on 18 March. In summer 2025 the regional authorities had made a new park on this site a priority.
Five buildings on the cultural heritage register were kept and adapted for young people. They now house a modern digital library, a multi-disciplinary education centre, creative workshops, centres for artificial intelligence, 3D modelling, robotics and esports, an information resource centre, sports halls and an underground eco-museum. A chess federation has premises here too, as does the Profi Deutsch German-language centre, opened as a Telc international exam centre.
The park itself has children's rides, fitness and workout areas, tennis courts, a table-tennis hall, mini-golf, aivans (shaded pavilions) for older visitors and more than ten cafés. The complex is meant not only for leisure but as a base for IT, sport and start-up projects; young people who pass the Telc exam can go on to dual vocational training in Germany, and five more such exam centres are planned in other regions in 2026.
