Colibri Traditional Hostel
Traditional house-hostel with a big orchard courtyard
A traditional house with a large orchard courtyard in the south of the city, with an aivan veranda, rooms decorated with suzani and free parking. The Khoja Ahrar Complex is 1.4 km away.
Colibri lies south of the historic centre, on Usmon Yusupov Street in the Maroqand neighbourhood. In a straight line the Khoja Ahrar Complex is 1.4 km away, Gur-e-Amir 2.2 km and the Registan 3 km; guests say a taxi to the centre takes 10–15 minutes.
The house is built of fired brick in a Registan-inspired style and decorated with suzani embroideries and other folk crafts. Rooms open onto a large courtyard planted with cherry, persimmon, apple and apricot trees and grapevines, and there is a small aivan (covered veranda) and a lounge. In the warm months breakfast and dinner are served under the vines; breakfast is not included in the rate, but home-cooked meals can be ordered.
There is free parking in the yard, Wi-Fi throughout and air conditioning in the rooms. Reception is open 24 hours, and staff can arrange airport transfers and store luggage. Check-in is 14:00–23:00, check-out by 11:00; payment is in cash or by bank transfer.
