Yelkan sits in the town of Bulungur on the Tashkent–Samarkand highway (M39), about 28 km in a straight line from Registan Square in Samarkand. The café complex never closes, so drivers and families travelling between the capital and Samarkand often pull in here.

Uzbek food takes centre stage: shurpa, chuchvara dumplings, manti, several kinds of shashlik and other hot dishes, with breakfast in the morning. The hall is spacious and clean, there is Wi-Fi and a car park, and it works well for families with children.

Orders can take a while at peak times, and 2026 reviews mention a service charge added to the bill.
