A Friday mosque within the Khoja Ahrar Vali ensemble of madrasa, mosques, minaret and pool, run by the Vaqf foundation; the mosque's ablution block was renewed in 2019.
2 Zarafshon St, Khoja Ahror mahalla, Samarkand District
The ensemble grew up around the grave of Khoja Ahrar Vali (1404–1490), the great sheikh of the Naqshbandi order. The Khoja Ahrori Vali complex (mosque and dakhma) is on the national register as a 17th-century monument. A blue-domed mosque stands on the axis of the madrasa portal, while beside the tomb are summer and winter mosques and a small minaret of 1909.
The shrine is administered by the Vaqf charitable foundation, which in 2019 had the mosque's ablution block rebuilt with separate facilities for men and women and added new books to the complex's libraries.
