History

The mosque takes its name from Lahutiy mahalla, where it stands. Its central building was put up in 1955 as a club; in 1988–89 neighbours added a second block on the left through hashar, the traditional voluntary community work, and in 1992 a third building, originally meant as a sewing workshop, rose on the right.

Prayers have been held here since 15 December 1989, and the buildings were entered in the state cadastre in 2007. A minaret, gateway and windows in the national style were added in 2012, followed in 2013 by a spacious new ablution block.

Visiting a mosque: cover shoulders and knees (women should wear a headscarf) and take your shoes off at the door; avoid prayer times and ask before taking photos.
