A Friday mosque in Sattepo, built by community effort in 1885 under Abdu Mumin Bobo, its namesake. Turned into a warehouse in Soviet times, it reopened in 1992.
185a Turkiston St, Sattepo, Samarkand
The mosque was built in 1885 through hashar, voluntary community labour, led by Abdu Mumin Bobo, a man revered locally as a saintly figure, and it bears his name.
Under Soviet rule it became a collective-farm warehouse used to store chemicals. After independence the building was returned to the faithful and reopened as a mosque in 1992; its entrance, courtyard, prayer hall and ablution block have since been refurbished.
Official list: Listed by the Samarkand branch of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan (sammuslim.uz).
