History

The mosque has been active since 2004, when a small, plain prayer hall was built. In 2017 work began on a replacement designed to planning standards: a 16-by-16-metre hall wrapped in a 5.5-metre-wide iwan, with room for 600 worshippers. Construction finished in April 2021, in time for Friday prayers. The regional Muslim board counts it among the mosques of the border area.

Official list: Listed by the Samarkand branch of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan (sammuslim.uz).

Visiting a mosque: cover shoulders and knees (women should wear a headscarf) and take your shoes off at the door; avoid prayer times and ask before taking photos.
